​My approach is Integrative, which means that I draw on Person Centred (how you are feeling now), CBT (goal/change focused) and Psychodynamic (how the past might be affecting you now).

 

I work creatively with young people, using art, sand trays and other tools to help explore thoughts and feelings. It is also ok to just talk if that is what is required by clients. I also help individuals find coping strategies to help with anxiety, panic, and other difficult emotions. I can also use creative work with adults if it is preferred.

 

I have experience working with adults and children with anxiety, depression, OCD, bereavement and many more difficult emotions or life events that occur for individuals. I also have past experience working closely with children and adults with Autism and other additional needs. I will work with each individual by listening and exploring their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, creating a space where you will feel comfortable, listened too, validated and not judged. I understand that some things are really difficult to talk about, so I will work at your own pace to support you.

 

As your counsellor, you will quickly find that I am a very honest and open person, who has a great passion for this work. Counselling has always been a profession I knew I was meant to be apart of, and I am here to help support you through difficult times or experiences in your life.

 

Qualifications

BAHons psychology and counselling

Postgraduate certificate in integrative counselling skills

Level 4 diploma in counselling theory

Level 5 professional diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling practice.

 

I am always building on my skills and knowledge by extending my professional learning and will update my page when I complete courses.
